Did you know?
1952 Elliehausen had 185 goats, the typical 'milk cow' for smaller workshops of working farmers. The goat breeding society in Elliehausen was in 1952 with 72 members even bigger than the Fire Brigade (68 memb.) and not much smaller than the biggest club, the sports club.
1939 30 % and 1952 20 % of the Elliehäuser families were called Grube, Ahlborn or Ahlbrecht, names, which are already mentioned in the feudal contracts with the Plessern (14th century).
1689 Elliehausen had 264 inhabitants
1885 675 inhabitants lived in Elliehausen - this was for a long time the highest number.

Göttingen suburbanised Elliehausen in 1973. Elliehausen and Esebeck together have 3221 residents, Elliehausen alone has ca. 2556 residents. The university is the main economical factor of Göttingen, beside that the city has mainly optical and fine mechanical industrial companies.
